Threat of coronavirus : Government cannot knowingly put students in danger by opening educational institutions.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina told the parliament today that the government cannot knowingly put students in danger by opening educational institutions, as they will be infected with the coronavirus. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina however, admitted that students have been deprived of education as a result of the long-term closure of schools, colleges, and universities.
Even though this covid situation they have to learn, but the question is whether we will force them to the verge of death, knowing that this highly contagious virus also infects children” said PM.
Referring to the ongoing strict lockdown, the premier stated that the government will ensure people’s food security. She requested the people to protect themselves and others from coronavirus.
But, many did not pay heed to that and rushed to their village homes. What is the result of that? The virus wouldn’t have spread if all listened,” the PM said.
Sheikh Hasina told. We are also communicating with the countries where the vaccines are available. We will procure more vaccines, we will buy at whatever cost… for that we have allotted separate fund,” she said
In this connection, she said that the government is communicating with China, Russia, the USA, Japan, and Australia to get vaccines. She said that the government will provide vaccines to 80 per cent of the citizens free of cost.
“We have also made the Covid-19 test free as the number of infected people has surged at the district level,” she said.
the government has allotted Tk 32,236 crore for vaccines, with an additional Tk 10,000 crore reserved for emergency purposes.
Sheikh Hasina stated that the government has been able to keep the economy moving during the pandemic and that proper growth has been maintained.
